How to Create an Account on Rakuten Ichiba (楽天市場)

Creating an account on Rakuten is supper easy for you because you can do it all in English!

The process will be completed in 5 minutes.

Create an Account

Just follow the instructions and complete Rakuten member registration!

First, click "会員登録" (refere below picture) to move to the registration page.

Then, choose "English" to creat your account.

The instructions are given in English, so just follw what you are required and your account will be created.

How to Add your Information

Once you have created your account at Rakuten and logged into your account, you can add/edit your information.

This is easy, too because you can also do it in English.

First, log in to Rakuten.

Then, follow as pictures shown below to move to your account.

Now, you got to the page to add/edit your information.

Scroll down until you find the language setting and change the setting to English.

You can add/edit your shipping address and credit card information on this page.

*If you are sending your package to the post office on base, DO NOT write "FPO" as it will be taken care of as "international shipping" and will take longer to be delivered.

Use the address

If you live out in town, just use your address, it will work the best.

*You can use your address on base housing since delivery services are available to the base housing in Sasebo and Yokosuka (at least).

(In case a delivery truck doesn't have an access to the housing, you will get a phone call to come to pick up the package at the gate)

Make sure to write the building number and room number correct to get your package.

After you add your information, you are all set to start shopping!

Delivery Notice

If you were not at home at the time of the delivery, you will get a delivery notice and need to reschedule the delivery.

You can either call or reschedule online for redelivery.

Once you have created your account, let's shop!

Type the key words that you are looking for in a search bar.

For translation, I always use DeepL (This is a free Japanese translation tool on the web)

You can click "sort by" and sort the items by the order you would like to look.

If you start getting lots of used items, you can also change the searching setting to "new"

Then, you will get new products sorted by low to high.

In most of the stores, they offer FREE SHIPPING if you spend more than 3,980 yen even if the item (less than 3,980 yen) you would like to buy requires shipping fee.

Here is what you will see when you choose item that you are interested in...

Three major delivery services in Japan are 1) Yamato (black cat), Sagawa, and Yu-Pack (domestic parcel delivery service by Japan Post).

If you decide that you would like to buy the product, add the product in cart and proceed to check out.

At Check Out

At check out, make sure the shipping address is correct.

If you have points and would like to use the points, follow the instructions on the pictures below.

You will see "Place Order" in the middle of the ordering page, but I recommend you to scroll down till the end to make sure you are not missing anything.

You can always choose the date and time the product to be delivered and I recommend you to choose the dates and time.

At the end of this page, you will see notification if you would like to receive advertisement from the store.

I recommend you to unselect all.

And finally, let's place order!

Points and Coupons

You can earn points at each shopping.

Basically you will get 1 point for 100 yen, but Rakuten runs lots of discount sale, limitted time sale, and points-up sale.

Coupons sometimes pops-up on the screen when you are shopping.

You will get a coupon after each shopping that you will be able to use it at the next shopping as well.

Usually coupons are applied automatically at the checkout if you have a coupon available.

Signing up for Rakuten SUPERSALE

Rakuten runs discount sales periodically and you need to sign up for those discount sales in order to receive the deals.
